Some more tips on makeup
Well, another reason why to use a professional makeup artist for your wedding or portraiture photography session. Not only they use quality products and know how to apply it correctly, they also know what NOT to use for a photography session.
All kinds of shimmers. That is.
I know you girls like to apply some of this shimmery/glittery veil powder. And it looks cool and fun! I have one myself! But unfortunately you should not use it if you know you are going to be photographed and especially if you want to look good in the photos. You know why? Look at the skin image below. This is what happens with your skin on the photos. Ugly isn’t it? Even if you have a perfect skin and a perfect makeup this is how it is going to look once it’s out of the camera..
Remember that Nicole Kidman photo with the excessive powder on her nose? You know, I am pretty sure she looked just fine in reality. It’s just a tricky combination of camera/flashes/lights /makeup all together!
So I would say, steer away from those shimmers for the photoshoot. While they are fun to have them to go to a club etc, I would not recommend you use them for a photography session. Especially if that is your wedding photoshoot! You don’t want to look sweaty on the pictures, neither you want to have spots on your skin. And let me tell you, these are not always easy to get rid of even using the power of the Photoshop!
I warned ya! ;)
